Solutions - Water Sealing

Water sealing, using resin injection, is achieved by first drilling a hole into the rock in a position where it will intersect water bearing fissures. After drilling is complete an injection lance attached to a packer and static mixer is inserted into the hole.
The mixer is then connected via a “Y” piece and valves to the two delivery hoses. With the pump running, the two valves are opened allowing the two resins into the mixing tube where they are thoroughly mixed. As the mixed resin enters the packer, the pressure increases causing the packer to expand, followed by a rupture of the pressure disc which allows the mixed resin to flow through the injection tube and into the fissures where it sets and stops the water flow.
