Products - Bobbin Telltale
The Bobbin Telltale is graphic indicator of strata movement. It consists of three parts:
- An anchor, placed by the user at a chosen depth in a borehole
- A flexible cable, connecting the anchor to the display unit, outside the collar of the borehole
- Display unit, with pointer displaying strata movement between the collar and the anchor as a reading on a circular dial. The display unit contains a patented mechanism that translates linear strata movement into circular movement of the pointer, with high amplification. The dial is graduated to show millimetres of movement and colour coded to facilitate formulating codes of practice on response to strata movement.
The Bobbin Telltale is needs no external connections or energy source. It is non-electronic and has no aluminium parts. It is safe for use in fiery mines.
